Ithala Game reserve
Ithala is located north of the Natal, in front of the Swaziland, it`s a very montainous reserve, fonded in 1974. the surface is around 30 000 hectares. There is a large diversity of bucks, rare species in the Natal: oribi, hartebeest, eland, tsessebe, redbuck, and even brown Hyena: species in danger. geology is the most interresting part of this reserve, Ithala owns one of the most diversify geology in the world !!
This reserve impressed me by its sceneries: Big open fields surrounded by mountains, valleys, gorges, rivers, may be one of the most impressive scenery i`ve seen in South Africa. The bush camp was just perfect, with, if i remember well, a very exiting arrival on the first night. All that contribued to make a crazy atmosphere in the group (9 frenchies), with some unforgivable moments in the evenings, around the fire !!
Mbizo Bush camp , chill out in the afternoon !!"
natural jacousi in the river, just near by the bush camp.
Nice swim in the river.
4 Hartebeests and a wildbeest.
4 males austrichs.
Nice overview of the reserve.
